Designer Series – Curved Corner With Display

This unique display bottle feature helps identify wines with full label visibility. The 15 degree angle of the display bottle keeps your cork moist. Each curve is comprised of 4 columns with 1 display each x 18 rows of individual bottles style racking. Note that this product requires assembly. Also, molding packages are available separately for this racking unit.

Spacer Bars:
Spacer bars are sent with a dado that snugly fits each column of your racking. You can assemble the rack with the nails provided, or you can utilize a brad nailer for faster assembly. If you would prefer to assemble your rack with screws you will need to predrill and countersink the holes to ensure you do not split the material.

Bottom Rail: All the racks in this Series have a 1 7/16″ square cut bottom rail. This allows the bottles to be securely held above the floor level so the bottle does not break accidentally by hitting a hard floor. In addition, the base molding supplied with this Series is 1 7/16″ high and can be applied directly to the front of this rail.

Rustic Pine Unstained
310206
rustic-pine-4up.jpgRustic Pine is characterized by its soft creamy color combined with subtle streaks and structurally sound knots. Pine is sought after when a rustic architectural appearance is desired.
Rustic Pine is our best value by price per bottle space because the supply is huge. Pine grows throughout North America and represents a huge quantity of the overall wood produced. Rustic Pine is a grade that includes knots which give a bigger yield and lower cost than a clear grade of wood.
Beautiful unstained, Rustic wine cellar wood lends itself to a variety of stains and finishes to match your home decor. It is particularly suited for weather finishes where we strip down the intergrain matter to approximate the appearance of wood that has been aged outside for decades. Rustic Pine absorbs and retains all types of finishes extremely well. It will become more pronounced in the dark stained woods. When lacquer is added, the grain pattern continues to get magnified.

Premium Redwood Unstained
Premium Redwood
prem-red-un-4up.jpgPremium Redwood is the next step up in price. Unlike Rustic Pine the Premium Redwood is clear, meaning it has no knots. It includes wood from all part of the log which varies from white to pink to red and reddish brown. Some prefer Premium Redwood for the variety of colors.
WhyRedwood? Redwood grows exclusively in California from the northern tip to half way down the coast in a band averaging 30 miles wide along the Pacific Coast. With or without stain, redwood is well-suited to the humid, cool conditions of a wine cellar, and endures extremely well in these conditions.
SFIAll of our redwood is purchased under the guidelines of SFI, Sustainable Forestry Initiative. SFI Certification provides customers with assurance that the redwood YOU purchase from Wine Cellar Creations has been harvested in an environmentally sound manner.

Clear All Heart Redwood Unstained
Clear Allheart Redwood
clear allheart redwoodClear Allheart Redwood is the most expensive part of the redwood tree. It comes exclusively from the center of the log and is consistently in the reddish hues. Of all North American woods it is the most resistant to moisture, mildew and rot. For those reasons it was used in subterranean wine cellars before mechanically climate controlled wine cellars were invented.
WhyRedwood? The characteristics of Clear All Heart Redwood include resistance to shrinking, warping, and checking in addition to durability. What does this mean to you? It means that your wood will age beautifully in your wine cellar. Be assured that with your selection of Clear All Heart Redwood, you are making an environmentally sound choice.

Grand Mahogany Unstained
Grand Mahogany wood
Grand Mahogany imageGrand Mahogany is a plantation grown hardwood that is extremely attractive. With it’s uniform color, it has a few slight variations that go from medium to pale pink. The hardwood has a moderately coarse grain pattern. For the most part, the grain pattern is straight but can be slightly interlocked in some cases. Having a mahogany wine rack in your cellar is a versatile wood that is comparable to sapele and cherry with it’s hardness, density, and grain texture. In regards to its durability and stability, you can easily match it up to sapele, hard maple, or cherry wood wine rack examples and find it compares well.

Stain Options

We use environmentally friendly water based stains. Stain is a semi-transparent coverage available for our wood products. Because wood is a natural product, when stained, all grain patterns in the wood will still be apparent. In many cases adding a stain to a wood will enhance the color variations of the wood, or the grain patterns. It is important to note that this is not a defect in the wood, but an attribute enhanced through the staining process.

Why choose water-based stains? There are so many but very simple reasons to do it. First off, water-based stains are the most environmentally-safe and friendly ones you can use for your wine cellar. The actual finish is suspended in the water, not “thinned” by it, which allows it to dry quickly and have limited VOCs. Some VOCs are carcinogenic or neurotoxic and pose dangers to your health, the health of our planet, and the health of your wine as well. Second, by switching to water-based stains, exposure to VOCs is greatly minimized, as well as to fire hazards. Keep in mind that water based products are more UV resistant than solvent products that will get hazy and lose their color clarity. Third, they are also odor-free! So using them in your project assures you of a clean and green wine cellar with a richer and more elegant finish to boot.

Whitewash Stain
whitewash finish
Whitewash Stain – The whitewash finish is one of our newer selections and gives a whitish cast to the wood. Whitewash is a versatile finish that complements the clean, open themes of modern décor as well as a rustic, seaside appeal. It is important to note that our whitewash stain is a semi-transparent stain, the beauty of the wood grain still shows through. Also, our whitewash stain adds a definitive ‘texture’ to the wood, giving the end product a ‘rustic elegant’ character. Please request a sample if you would like to see this prior to purchasing.
